Verb

Verb

Verb is a word which get a sentence predicate, asks s.t., give a command to somebody or other things. There are 12 kinds of verb, they are:
1.        Auxiliary verb (can, must, may, do/does, shall/will, etc.)
2.        Regular verb (to hate – hated – hated)
3.        Irregular verb (to pay – paid – paid)
4.        Transitive verb; is a verb which has an object (please call me)
5.        Intransitive verb; is a verb which has no object (Let’s walk)
6.        Finite verb; is a verb which related to main sentence. If the main sentence is singular, the verb is also singular. If it’s plural, so is the verb.  (my husband works hard – my wife and I work hard)
7.        Non-finite verb; is a verb which is not related to main sentence, so it doesn’t change if the time changed, the change of singular to plural and the change of the first to the third person (He can swim well now)
8.        Factitive verb; is a transitive verb which use a complement (I can appoint you our division manager)
9.        Copulative verb; is an intransitive verb which use a complement (He looks tired)
10.    Verb active in form but passive in sense (This milk tastes bitter)
11.    Verb without complement; a moderate verb form; means passive (The magazine is printing)
12.    Noun used as verb (can you book my name)
